Some HUGE changes are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom soon.

In case you missed it, Dinoland, which opened with the theme park in 1998, will permanently close to make way for a brand new land. Well, the time is almost here, as Disney just announced the OFFICIAL closing date for Dinoland.
Disney just confirmed that Dinoland U.S.A. will be closing on February 2nd, 2026.

This includes the closing of Dinosaur, The Dino Institute Shop, and the very popular Animal Kingdom restaurant, Restaurantosaurus. The last day to experience it all will be February 1st, 2026.

We knew this day was coming at some point next year, but now that it’s been announced, it’s starting to feel all too real. This means that if you’re planning a final visit to Dinoland, you’ll want to do it before February rolls around –otherwise, you might miss it.

We’re going to miss all of it, but especially Restaurantosaurus. It was one of our favorite places in Animal Kingdom to get out of the sun and grab a bite to eat. They serve great burgers, chicken fingers, and more. We’re curious what will take its spot with the new Tropical Americas overlay.

As hard as it is to say goodbye, we are looking forward to what’s on the horizon with the new land. The new Tropical Americas-themed land called Pueblo Esperanza will feature attractions from both Indiana Jones and Encanto. We’re expecting to get more details on the attractions and additional things to come once Dinoland is gone — details sooner would be great!

Pueblo Esperanza is set to open sometime in 2027, so there’s still plenty of time for more announcements. We’ll keep you updated with them all, so stay tuned!
