Theme park safety is taken very seriously, but accidents do occasionally happen.

An accident happened recently, on April 20th, at Universal Studios Hollywood when a tram crashed, resulting in the injury of 15 people.
According to KTLA, authorities arrived at Universal Studios Hollywood around 9:15PM in response to a tram crash. Emergency crews found 15 people injured at the scene. Although most injuries were minor, one person was found with critical injuries. All 15 passengers were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
According to the Los Angeles Times, investigators said the last car of the tram struck a rail near a parking area due to an issue with the brakes.

The Studio Tour is a popular ride, taking Universal Studios Hollywood visitors on a one-hour backlot tour that lets them see some of the most famous film sets in history. The tour also includes some interactive elements.

A Universal spokesperson issued the following statement: “There was a tram incident at the theme park tonight that resulted in multiple minor injuries, confirmed by the LA County Fire Dept. We are working to support our guests and understand the circumstances that led to the accident.”
