Disney’s technology has come a LONG way in the past few decades.
Disney always seems to be upping their game when it comes to their animatronics and technology, and even the droids that you can make and take home with you. Recently, we were invited to Disney’s Imagineering Campus to see the NEW things they’ve been working on! Let’s go!
Disney invited us to check out an Imagineering event, and we got to see how some of their newest droids are coming along, needless to say, we’re VERY impressed!
First up, we got to check out some new BD-X droids, which are controlled with a two-joystick controller. You can actually train them with “reinforcement learning” and they have lights that they can turn on to “scan” you. We’d seen these out and about over at Disneyland, and we’re so excited to check them out again.
They’re expected to show up in the parks during Season of the Force in Disneyland from April 5th to June 2nd. They’ll be located in various places around Black Spire Outpost. Did we mention that they’re totally weather-proof?
The best news? Disney is building MORE as we speak! We also got to check out a Judy Hopps and Duke of Weaselton animatronic that we’d already seen, but it was awesome to see it in person!
