The grand opening of Epic Universe is coming soon, and we got to step inside for the first time EVER!

The new theme park will have five lands, each with its own rides and restaurants. One of the ones we’ve been looking forward to the most is How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, and not only did we have the time of our lives getting to explore the land yesterday, but we also got the opportunity to meet one of our FAVORITE characters! Our dragon dreams are coming true!
That’s right! One of the biggest draws of this land, beyond all its unique rides and dining options, is the opportunity to meet Toothless and Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon.

We’d heard that during Universal Cast Member previews, this was one of the longest lines in the park, and that doesn’t surprise us! These beloved characters mean a lot to tons of people, so when you’re heading to the park, be prepared to wait in line for this one unless you choose to rope-drop it.

We were SO impressed by the Toothless Night Fury dragon — he even seemed to react to us AND Hiccup, who, by the way, genuinely made us feel like we were talking to one of the most iconic Vikings in Berk. His mannerisms and voice were spot-on, and we were actually a little nervous because it really was like one of our favorite characters had come to life in front of us.

We also didn’t feel rushed at all during this meet-and-greet, which, to be fair, could have been because we were on a special tour, but one of the major highlights of the day overall was the character interactions. So we hope that everyone will genuinely get to have their moment with these fun characters!

Don’t forget to say hi to the other dragons around the land, like the ice dragon pictured above, and you may even see some wandering around!
