People Will Be Running in Their Undies in the Streets of Orlando This Weekend. 🙈Yes, You Read That Right.

Lots of people visit Disney World to run. runDisney weekends are held several times a year, and they are all sell-outs. It’s fun to camp out along the race route to cheer them on, and walk around the parks after a race to congratulate all the runners wearing their medals!

This weekend, there’s a fun run in downtown Orlando that we don’t see coming to the Disney World streets anytime soon, and if you’re in the area, well … you may want to avert your eyes! 🙈

The event, Cupid’s Undie Run, is occurring in Downtown Orlando this Saturday, February 17th. Cupid’s Undie Run is a fun run in support of Neurofibromatosis, or NF. All proceeds from the run benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation.

And YES, people quite literally run in their underwear at this event.

This is the 14th year for undie fun runs around the country, and they have raised more than $21 million to date for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Why run in your undies? Well, this is all in good fun, of course, and as the organizers say, “We run in our undies because those affected by NF can’t cover up their tumors. They can’t put on clothes to feel more comfortable, so why should we?”

The Orlando fun run is about a mile in length, and will start about 2 PM. This is probably not a surprise, but the fun run is part of a larger party that runs from noon to 4 PM, with drinking and dancing on tap (in your undies, of course).
