The Shopping Rule You Need to Know Before You Go to Disney World

Part of the fun of a Disney trip is picking out souvenirs to take home. It can be tempting to fill up your suitcase with all kinds of merchandise for you and your friends back home. But, did you know there are rules you need to follow when shopping for these goods?

In 2021, Disney implemented a shopping rule that prevented each guest from buying more than two of any particular item, citing supply chain problems and stocking issues. Before this policy, guests were limited to purchasing a maximum of 10 of the same item.

Past merchandise limit

In July 2022, Disney began lifting this 2-item-per-person rule, and we noticed the signs for this policy started disappearing. At the time, the 10-item limit went back into place, but you might still find yourself with stricter limits on certain items.

Currently, you’ll notice that some products still have 2-item-per-person limits. We’ve seen this policy on items throughout the parks. For example, MagicBands often have a 2-item-per-person limit.

We’ve also noticed select pins are subject to the policy as well. When we asked a cast member if the 10-item limit still applied to the rest of the merchandise, they informed us that some items may still have a 10-item limit per person, but typically the restricted items are the ones with a 2-item limit policy.
