Things happen in and around Disney World that can impact the parks directly.

For example, bad weather can shut down outdoor rides, or sometimes — in the case of hurricanes — shut down the entire resort. This morning, a local fire has created a situation where guests might see smoke at Disney World.
According to The Orlando Sentinel, a massive fire broke out at a plant nursery supply company near Kissimmee, Florida, this morning. As a result, 75 firefighters showed up on the scene to put out what eventually became a fire spreading across five acres.

The fire is close enough to Disney World that smoke from the fire was seen over the resort earlier this morning.

No injuries have been reported from the fire and officials are monitoring air quality. According to WFTV, people who are in the area are being advised to stay indoors if they suffer from any kind of breathing issues.
According to WESH, firefighters are still battling the blaze. Osceola County Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Jon Haskett said, “We’ve got remote monitoring set up and we’re not yet getting any signal that would cause us to call for an evacuation, but that could change. If there is an evacuation, it would be due to the smoke and carbon monoxide off the fire.”
According to a recent tweet by WESH’s Tony Atkins, the smoke is not as dense as it was earlier this morning.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation, but if you’re in Disney World and see smoke, you’ll know why. If officials issue any alerts about air quality in the area, we’ll also be sure to let you know, so keep checking back with AllEars for more.
