NEWS: Orlando Airport Expects 1.75 Million Travelers During Thanksgiving

Well, the holiday season has arrived in Disney World, and many guests are making their holiday plans for trips.

However, if you’re planning on coming to Disney World this month, you may need to know that certain days are already on track to become the busiest of the month — and not just at Disney, either. Orlando International Airport has announced which travel dates are expected to be the busiest this November.

Orlando International Airport is expecting Thanksgiving traffic there to reach the records set in 2019 — and certain dates are projected to be the busiest.

The top five projected busiest days in November 2022 are:

Saturday, November 26th with an estimated 165,100 travelers
Saturday, November 19th with an estimated 161,400 travelers
Sunday, November 27th with an estimated 158,500 travelers
Monday, November 28th with an estimated 150,900 travelers
Wednesday, November 23rd with an estimated 150,600 travelers

Overall, the airport estimates that at least 1.75 million passengers will travel through the airport during the 12-day Thanksgiving holiday travel period, the same number that flew through the airport in 2019.

Keep in mind that if you are flying during that time, you’ll need to pack a lot of patience with you. We recommend getting to the airport early so that you have plenty of time to get checked in, get through security, and get to your gate. If you’re traveling from Disney World, make sure your transportation from your hotel is all set to get you to the airport in time.

Note that many airlines could experience delays and cancellations, as well, so make sure you’re aware of your individual airline’s policy on that, as well as Disney World’s policies on cancellations if that would affect your trip.
