NEWS: Oscars Will Recognize Fan Favorite Film in 2022 Ceremony

Awards season is off to a great start, with the Walt Disney Company already having scored a number of wins.

The 94th Academy Awards (also known as The Oscars) will be taking place on Sunday, March 27th, 2022, and once again Disney has received a plethora of nominations! But, this year’s Oscars ceremony will be a little bit different — and we’ve got all the details you need to know below!

For the first time in history, The Academy will be giving fans a voice at this year’s Oscars ceremony! You could vote for Encanto or even Shang-Chi!

Starting now through March 3rd, 2022, movie buffs will be able to vote for their favorite movie of 2021 on Twitter using the hashtag “#OscarsFanFavorite”, or by visiting the Oscars Fan Favorite website.

And, in case you thought it couldn’t get any better — if you decide to vote for your favorite film, you’ll also be entered for a chance to win a trip to the 95th Academy Awards in 2023!

The Academy is also asking for audience help in choosing an “#OscarsCheerMoment”, or part of a movie that made them “erupt into cheers in theaters”.
