He’s that guy we’re all talking about from Star Wars with the hit Disney+ series and the little green friend named Grogu (aka Baby Yoda). But we’re about to introduce you to his doppelganger, the “Maskalorian.”

According to The Washington Post, the Maskalorian, is a man named Matt Adams, a filmmaker and improv performer, who travels around the world dressed as the Maskalorian (complete with a baby Masku wearing a GoPro camera) handing out free masks to people.

So far, he’s been spotted in New York City, Austria, and on the aisles inside an airplane handing out masks. He’s posted videos to social media that have racked up millions of views.

The idea came to Adams early during the pandemic after reading about people strongly opposed to mask-wearing. He says, “I just kind of wanted to see, I wonder if I can encourage people in a playful and humorous way.”

He created the costume and started traveling to share his message of masking to the world. “From almost the moment I put on the helmet, I was getting reactions,” he said.

This is the way.
