Winter Storm Causes THOUSANDS of Flight Cancellations This Weekend

If you had a flight booked this weekend, you might want to check its status.

Attention all passengers!

We’ve seen some uncharacteristic weather down in Florida the last few weeks. It was so cold that water parks had to close. And with the Orlando airport seeing much more traffic now than it did this time last year, it’s important to know what the weather/flight situation is going to be if you’re planning to travel. If you’re traveling to or from the East Coast, you might have to change your schedule.

There is currently a Winter Storm sweeping through the northeast, and it is severely impacting air travel. Airlines have been preparing for high winds and up two feet of snow, and since Friday, January 28th, nearly 5,000 flights have been canceled, according to The New York Times.

In the New York City area alone, LaGuardia airport had 232 canceled flights, Kennedy International Airport had 209, and Newark Liberty Airport had 167, and the number of cancellations is expected to rise.

The Boston Logan International Airport also had a lot of cancellations, and warned of more cancellations on Saturday the 29th, and Sunday the 30th.
