Since Disney World’s reopening, there have been various updates to the health and safety measures taking place around the parks.

As distancing measures have been reduced, masks requirements have also been relaxed around the parks. Disney World has most recently allowed all guests to go maskless outdoors, although they were still required indoors. However, Disney World recently announced that the parks would be majorly changing face mask requirements yet again.
Starting today, fully vaccinated guests will no longer be required to wear face masks in most areas at Disney World. They will have the option of choosing to wear them both indoors and outdoors, while guests who are not fully vaccinated are still required to wear masks in all indoor areas.

Masks will still be required for all guests when they are riding Disney transportation like Disney buses, monorails, and the Disney Skyliner. Although Disney won’t ask guests to show proof of vaccination status, it’s still important to follow the guidelines in place. And, we’re giving you a look at what the new mask policy is like in Disney World!

We headed to Magic Kingdom this morning to check it out and decided to take the monorail on our way over. We expected that masks would be required on this form of transportation, but we overheard a Cast Member telling guests that they were NOT required on the ferryboat (likely because it isn’t enclosed).

When we boarded the monorail today, the dividers were gone and we were loaded with other parties. They have once again loaded enough guests to allow for standing room.

When we got to Magic Kingdom, our first order of business was to head inside and see how the new mask policy was being handled. We opted to walk through The Emporium. Inside, there were some guests wearing masks and some not.

Not a lot of people were shopping first thing in the morning, but vaccinated guests are allowed to not wear masks indoors.

The same was true when we walked across the street to the Starbucks location, Main Street Bakery. Inside was a mixture of guests wearing their masks and not wearing them.

But what’s it like on a ride? Well, over at Jungle Cruise, guests who fell under the specifications of the new policy were allowed to remove their masks in the ride queue.

Also, masks are no longer required on the ride for fully vaccinated guests.

From what we saw, the plexiglass dividers were also gone from the boats, except the ones surrounding the Skipper. Some boats we spotted were seating the middle row of seats while others were not.

We’ll continue to update you on this policy change throughout the day if we spot anything that we think you should know. Stay tuned to AllEars!
