Disney Recipe: Make a Very DIFFERENT Kind of Wookie Cookie at Home!

This past April, runDisney hosted the Star Wars Rival Run Weekend, a series of Star Wars-themed virtual running events! The weekend featured a 5k, 10k, and half marathon as well as events like the Kessel Run Challenge and kids’ running events.

To coincide with the event, runDisney and Gogo squeeZ have also released a new Chewbacca Cookie recipe!

The new recipe is called the “Chewie We’re Homemade Cookie” and features Gogo squeeZ applesauce, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and chopped dates, making this a delicious and healthy recipe!

For this recipe, you’re going to need the following ingredients:

4 small Gogo squeeZ applesauce pouches
2/3 cup chopped dates
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 cup oats
½ cup oat or whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon canola oil
1 egg (or sub flax egg)
Optional garnish: Melted chocolate and mini marshmallows

After you gather all your ingredients, follow these steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with a nonstick baking mat and set aside.
Place all dry ingredients into a bowl and mix together.
In a small bowl, combine the wet ingredients and whisk.
Add wet mixture to dry mixture and mix well.
Use a spoon to scoop out a ping-pong ball size of the mixture and roll into a small ball. Repeat until all the mixture has been used. Place each ball on a baking sheet then press to flatten with fork prongs.
Bake cookies for 15 minutes or just until the edges are golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.
To create the “Chewie” look, spread melted chocolate to create a holster and position mini marshmallow segments to complete his belt. Use melted chocolate to create eyes and mouth.
