NEWS: Cruises Could Be On Hold Until Late Fall

Recently, we shared the news that Royal Caribbean had hopes to resume sailings this June, and Disney Cruise Line had their sights set on the fall of 2021 as a target for when their departures could resume.

It looks like some of those plans may now face yet another delay.

TradeWinds has reported that the U.S. government is upholding their restrictions on sailing until at least November 1st, 2021. The announcement comes after the cruise industry called on the CDC to allow for the resumption of U.S. sailing in the summer and to lift its Framework for Conditional Sailing Order.

It’s possible that the November 1st extension could still allow Disney to resume cruising in the fall of 2021, albeit any additional extensions.

It’s important to point out that for Royal Caribbean, their proposed summer sailings would take place out of the homeport for Adventure of the Seas, which is Nassau, The Bahamas, which is outside of U.S. borders. These departures were scheduled to go on sale starting today for sailings starting on June 12th.
