It looks like things will soon be moving along on the production of the live-action reimagining of The Little Mermaid.

We’ve recently seen updates on the filming of a number of upcoming projects including Black Panther 2 and the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series. And now, it looks like we can add the live-action reimagining of The Little Mermaid to the list of projects set to begin filming soon!
Disney had previously announced the cast of the highly-anticipated film, which features Halle Bailey in the lead role as Ariel. And recently, Melissa McCarthy, who is set to play the villainous sea-witch, Ursula, revealed that filming for the movie is expected to resume soon!

As reported by People, McCarthy recently revealed that the production team hopes to resume filming in January, saying “For ‘The Little Mermaid’, hopefully, if everything is …safe, we go back to shooting in January in London.”
Production on the film was originally set to begin in early 2020, but filming has been delayed due to the ongoing global health crisis. We will continue to keep an eye out for any further updates on The Little Mermaid, as well as other Disney film projects, so stay tuned for more information!
