It’s time for the ULTIMATE HOLIDAY THROW DOWN!

We took to Instagram to ask our followers some VERY important questions. The kind of questions that keep us at night while we sip on hot cocoa and watch The Santa Clause for the 100th time. Which Disney resort is the prettiest during the holiday seasons? What’s the official flavor of Christmastime? Is The Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween or Christmas movie?? Find out what we discovered!

Holiday Food

We challenged you all to the ultimate Christmas food and flavor smackdowns. The results are in and we’re here to spread the news! We first asked the very pertinent question, “Which pie is a holiday MUST?” The choices were between classic pecan or pumpkin pie. And the winner is…PUMPKIN! Of course, what’s pumpkin pie without a huge helping of whipped cream??

Next up, what’s the official FLAVOR of the holidays? We battled it out between peppermint and gingerbread. The clear winner was the fresh taste of peppermint! We’re all for candy canes and peppermint mochas too.

Now, what’s the REAL drink mascot of the season? Is it hot cocoa or egg nog? Do we love chocolate or nutmeg and spices??

Ok, you guys were all about the hot cocoa! 80% of our followers hopped on the cocoa and marshmallow train!

Holiday Movies

This one was a tough battle to call. We pitted classic movies against each other and asked some grueling questions. The first was a challenge between Jim Carrey’s The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and The Santa Clause. It was a close call but 55% of our followers said they would rather tune into The Santa Clause. Does this make Tim Allen the official holiday actor too?

Here’s the BIGGEST question we’ve all had on our minds at some point. Is The Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween or Christmas movie? 66% of voters said that it’s a Halloween movie! So, we guess that settles the great debate!

We’re still not totally convinced so feel free to watch this movie during any season of the year!

Christmas at the Theme Parks

Ok, let’s take a trip to Disney World and see what holiday attractions, characters, and decorations were your favorites! The DinoLand U.S.A dinosaur from Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Gertie the Dinosaur in Disney’s Hollywood Studios were pitted against each other. Not much of a surprise that voters absolutely adore Gertie!

As for attraction makeovers, Trader Sam turns into Trader Sam-ta on the Jingle Cruise and Figment gets a Christmas sweater on Journey into Imagination. 56% of our followers thought that Figment sleigh-ed in his sweater! 

We also asked you what Christmas trees were the most eye-catching at the resorts and in the parks! The clear winner was Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with 3,583 votes…

…and the Magic Kingdom with 3,435 votes! Comparatively, poor EPCOT only received 858 votes. Go give the EPCOT Christmas tree some love if you’re visiting this year!

Over at Universal Orlando, we asked which tree was the best between the Marvel, Jurassic Park, Grinch, and Harry Potter-themed trees. This was a REALLY close race! The Grinch tree received 2,559 votes, but Harry Potter pulled it out in the end with 2,583!
