Who doesn’t love Disney?

It seems like the near universal respect is shared across the industry, because Fortune has just named Disney as one of the world’s most admired companies! But what exactly does that mean?

Every year, Fortune holds a survey across multiple industries to determine which companies are most admired by their peers, aka, other companies. Disney has ranked as the most admired company in the entertainment category for 17 years running, because even if you don’t like them you can’t help but respect them. However, this year, they received the highest marks across all categories, while ranking 4th over all. Apple was ranked number 1, followed by Amazon and Microsoft.

Contributing factors to the award include quality of products, social responsibility, and long term investment value. 2019 was an incredible fiscal year for Disney, thanks to the release of multiple blockbuster films, the Disney+ service, and massive expansions to the theme parks.

Will Disney overtake its technological rivals in the coming years? Only time will tell, but it can sit confidently knowing that it’s the most admired non-tech company in the world!
