Both ABC and Freeform have announced their schedules for the 2019-2020 television season. We’ll see returning favorites, some new shows on both channels, as well as some cancellations.

ABC will welcome three new scripted series to the lineup this fall, dramas “Stumptown” and “Emergence,” along with a new comedy spin-off from “black-ish” titled “mixed-ish”.

Some new dramas will enter the ABC schedule at the mid-season point, “The Baker and the Beauty” and “For Life,” along with the comedy “United We Fall”.

Viewer and fan favorites will return for new seasons, including: “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “American Housewife,” “American Idol,” “The Bachelor,” “black-ish,” “Bless This Mess,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “Fresh Off the Boat,” “The Goldbergs,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “The Rookie,” “Schooled,” “Shark Tank,” “Single Parents” and “Station 19”.

Freeform 2019-2020 Schedule News and Highlights

Freeform presented its plans and schedule for the upcoming television season, in addition to celebrating its position as the number one most social cable network this year, and the number one network in digital viewing.

That isn’t all! Freeform is home to the number one comedy in the women ages 18-34 age bracket with “grown-ish”, as well as the number two and three new dramas in 2019 with “Good Trouble” and “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists,” respectively.

Freeform made several announcements about the upcoming season, including the debut of three new series, “Motherland: For Salem”, “Party of Five”, and “Everything’s Gonna Be Okay”. “The Simpsons” will find themselves at a new TV home on Freeform starting in September — including episodes from all 30 seasons of the animated classic.

Last year, Freeform launched its own “31 Nights of Halloween” and it became the most-watched October in three years for the network. Freeform will be doubling down on its commitment to Halloween and will be making this year’s “31 Nights of Halloween” programming even bigger with the following programming additions.

• Last year’s “Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash,” was so popular that this year Freeform will air a new original special, “Halloween Extravaganza Bash” (working title) a celebration of Halloween’s biggest pop culture moments. This year, the special will honor the icons of the season, most beloved movies, television shows, and music artists who have become synonymous with Halloween.
• New movies will join this year’s schedule, including “Ghostbusters” as it celebrates its 25th anniversary and its sequel “Ghostbusters 2”. Other new movies will be the “Scream” trilogy. Fan favorites will be returning, such as  “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “The Addams Family.”
• Freeform will break its own record of the number of times one network can air “Hocus Pocus,” in a programming period with a record for 27 broadcasts of the cult classic.

For the Christmas season, viewers will see the return of the “25 Days of Christmas” programming event. Joining the event this year will be holiday classics “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Frosty the Snowman”.

A new competition show, “Wrap Battle,” will put DIY-ers to the test. In the elimination gift-wrapping competition, contestants battle it out to deliver amazing results in different challenges in every episode, with each vying to win $50,000.
