NEW LOOK at Universal Orlando’s Upcoming Roller Coaster

While many people were sad to see Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit go away at Universal Studios in Universal Orlando, others were looking forward to something new, especially when it was recently announced that the new coaster would be the same one coming to Universal Studios Hollywood — Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift.

This coaster is expected to open in 2027, and while the entirety of the former coaster is no longer around, it’s still going to take a while to construct an entirely new coaster. How are things looking so far, though? Don’t worry, we’ve got an update thanks to @bioreconstruct!

Starting off really strong, we’ve actually got a video of the whole area! At the end of the video, you can also see a glimpse of the Hogwarts Express stopped on the tracks while it undergoes maintenance.

When you look at the construction in relation to CityWalk, you can see just how massive it’ll really be. From what it looks like, you’ll be able to easily see the attraction from CityWalk when it’s complete, but you’ll need to enter Universal Studios to ride (just like Rip Ride Rockit).

We can also see three large concrete sections that are rising up from the ground. While it could be incorrect, it’s looking like these could be in preparation for a sliding track switch.

We can also see a straight line of footers closer to Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem. This very likely indicates a launch for the ride, especially since it’s close to those concrete forms. Now, this may not be the initial launch of the ride — it could be an additional launch inside the attraction.

With this new ride, it’s also been confirmed that Fast & Furious: Supercharged, also located in Universal Studios, will close in 2027. Many fans are thrilled about this change, as the attraction has never been very popular, and if we’re not mincing words, most people just flat out hate it. It hasn’t yet been announced if something new will be going into the ride building, but we’ll be watching closely for that announcement.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Universal Orlando news, so stay tuned to AllEars!
