Popular Disney Ride Reports Major Issues Before Permanent Closure

Each day, we track the wait times around Disney World parks to get information on which rides may have issues during your vacation, or when you might want to watch out for the highest wait times.

DINOSAUR

We also take all that data and see what rides close the most often, because those are the ones you’ll REALLY want to watch closely when you travel to the parks. Some of these rides make it onto this list nearly every month, just due to how difficult their mechanisms are, but others? Well, others, we don’t see why they have as many issues, and it concerns us — especially when it’s a ride that’s about to close PERMANENTLY!

Magic Kingdom

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel technically closed the most at 38 times in 26 days, but this is pretty typical, as it sometimes closes during Magic Kingdom fireworks for safety. Right behind it, though, was Mad Tea Party, which closed 32 times in 19 days. This is very peculiar, since the ride isn’t super complicated when compared to others.

Mad Tea Party

Now, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train closing 32 times in 19 days makes sense to us — this is a VERY popular ride, but it doesn’t have the biggest capacity, AND it’s got lots of moving pieces.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

We are concerned to see that the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover closed 29 times in 19 days. It’s possible this ride acts up more during the winter, due to being mostly outside, but if you’re set on riding this one, keep a close eye on those closures!

EPCOT

To our surprise, Spaceship Earth closed the most in this park, closing 48 times in 25 days. This is especially concerning, considering that this attraction just underwent a refurbishment towards the end of 2025.

Spaceship Earth

Not far behind was Test Track, which closed 43 times in 25 days. Also, not great considering it’s been less than a year since this ride reopened after being rethemed. If you’re heading to EPCOT and have this one at the top of your must-do list, do NOT wait until the end of the day to ride, as you’ll be devastated if you miss it.

Test Track

Journey into Imagination with Figment also closed 33 times in 22 days, which is NOT great for such a (sorry, it’s true) unpopular ride. It’s great for kids, families, and those who love Figment, but it’s usually a skip for others, so why is it closing so often?

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

For weeks now, we’ve been really worried about Toy Story Mania! and now we’ve got our proof as to why — in one month, it closed 32 times in 18 days. While this ride is very screen-based, and those can have issues frequently, before this fall/winter, we didn’t see it having nearly as many issues. We wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a refurbishment in this ride’s future to fix problems more thoroughly.

Toy Story Mania

On the other hand, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance closing 29 times in 18 days is pretty typical, and not something we’re overly concerned about. This ride is super complicated, and we don’t see the number of closures slowing any time soon, so if it’s one you want to ride, just keep a close eye on it and don’t wait until the end of the day!

Rise of the Resistance

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith closed 19 times in 12 days, and again, this one unfortunately doesn’t surprise us. It doesn’t have AS many issues as it used to, but it’s still not totally figured out. We’re really curious to see if the Muppets retheme will help or hurt this ride’s issues!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

DINOSAUR is only going to open for a few more days, but it’s had some trouble in its final month, closing 17 times in 13 days. Not a great way to go out, but hey, it could be worse!

DINOSAUR

Kali River Rapids also just recently came out of its annual winter refurbishment, but it still closed 17 times in 15 days. It likes to be dramatic, that’s just what we’ve decided over here, and you know what? We get it.

Finally, Expedition Everest closed 11 times in 11 days, which isn’t too bad considering this ride is as old as it is! We’ll continue to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World news, so stay tuned to AllEars!
