A Nostalgic McDonald’s Happy Meal Toy Is Coming BACK

You know what, we admit we’re suckers for McDonald’s Happy Meal toys, and nothing is going to change that!

McDonald’s just teased that a nostalgic Happy Meal toy series is coming back to the fast food chain, called Changeables. We can tell you’re feeling intrigued. Let’s take a closer look at what these are!

So first things first, what are Changeables? If you know a little about McDonald’s Happy Meal toy history, Changeables were a series of toys released between 1987 and 1990 that loosely resembled Hasbro’s Transformers. Except they were McDonald’s products that would turn into robots, dinosaurs, etc.

Well, McDonald’s is bringing them BACK (the nostalgia is going to hit some of you HARD). McDonald’s hasn’t announced an official date yet, but they have stated that they are coming soon.

We’re wondering what the Chanegables toys could be. Back when series 1 was first released in 1987, the series featured the following:

• Chicken McNuggets Robot
• Big Mac Robot
• Milkshake Robot
• Egg McMuffin Robot
• Large Fries Robot
• Quarter Pounder Robot

Series 2 in 1989 was very different, featuring:

• Ice Cream / “Turbo Cone”
• Soft Drink / “Krypto Cup”
• Quarter Pounder / “Gallacta Pounder”
• Hotcakes / “Robo-Cakes”
• Cheeseburger / “C2”
• Large Fries / “Fry Force”
• Big Mac / “Macro Mac”
• Small Fries / “Fry Bot”

While series 3 in 1990 had:

• Milkshake / “Tri-Shake-Atops”
• Big Mac / “Big Mac-O-Saurus Rex”
• Ice Cream / “McDino Cone”
• Happy Meal Box / “Happy Meal-O-Don”
• Quarter Pounder / “Quarter Pounder With Cheese-O-Saur”
• Large Fries / “Fry-Ceratops”
• Chicken McNuggets / “McNuggets-O-Saurus”
• Hotcakes / “Hot Cakes-O-Dactyl”
