Disney World has a tendency to change faster than most of us can keep up.

Disney World’s newest hotel project is moving along quickly, and the latest aerial photos are giving us the clearest look yet at what Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge has become. Construction has been steady for months, and now the layout, landscaping, and major structures are easy to spot from above. These new images from @bioreconstruct outline the hotel’s progress in a way that makes the whole project feel very real, and we are walking you through each major detail.
Lakeshore Lodge sits along the shores of Bay Lake between Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

It was announced as a nature-centered resort that blends lodge-style architecture with waterfront relaxation, and these new photos show that Disney is guiding the project toward that vision. The most noticeable features right now are the emerging A-frame villas, the pool zones, the waterfront walkway, and the future lobby building. Even though the site still looks very much like an active construction zone, the overall shape of the resort is coming together in a way that feels familiar for anyone who knows Disney’s approach to lakefront hotels.

The A-frame villas are one of the major focal points of the construction site. The newest aerial look shows several of these villas lined neatly along the shoreline. These villas appear to be framed out and progressing steadily, giving us a sense of how the resort will layer its accommodations between the shore and interior pathways.

Another area seeing a lot of action is the pool section. A secondary pool is clearly visible in the latest overhead images, and workers have been shaping out its defined borders. This secondary pool is located nearer to the edge of the property, which may give guests quieter moments away from the main activity zones.

Nearby, the construction of a dock adds to the resort’s waterfront development. The dock is forming along the shoreline beside the secondary pool and will likely support boat transportation or serve as a scenic lakeside overlook. This pairing of the pool and the dock in the same section of the property will definitely help to create a more cohesive waterfront experience.

The main pool and lazy river are really taking shape in the central courtyard. Both features appear larger and more detailed than the earlier grading phases suggested. The curved paths of the lazy river are becoming more pronounced, and the main pool looks like it will offer some wide swim zones and open views of the surrounding landscaped areas.

This close-up shot of this area shows even clearer outlines of the river layout and the main pool’s perimeter. This part of the resort seems likely to be the heart of outdoor activity and relaxation.

The lobby structure is also progressing nicely. We can really see how it’s framed as the primary arrival point for guests with all of its unique angles and lines, as seen in the concept art.

Here’s a wider photo showing how all these elements fit together.

Here’s another photo that shows the full construction site with Discovery Island visible in the background and how close Lakeshore Lodge is to Magic Kingdom’s resort area.

While we don’t have an officially announced opening date yet, based on how much progress has been made, the project seems right on track.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on construction as it continues over the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates on Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge and more right here at AllEars.
