Disney World just announced yet another hotel refurbishment! This time, the refurbishment will be happening at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.Â

Beginning in early October and continuing through early November 2025, the lobby at Fort Wilderness will undergo renovations. While the lobby is being refurbished, the check-in area may be temporarily relocated to a nearby modified location. Additionally, guests may hear or see maintenance in the area.
If you are heading to Fort Wilderness in October or November, make sure to follow posted signage that will direct you to the check-in location. While you may not be able to check-in at the lobby of Fort Wilderness, there will definitely be Cast Members available to assist with check-in or answer any other questions you might have. We are excited to see if Disney will make any changes to the lobby, or if it will just be general maintenance.

The brand-new Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is also being built behind Fort Wilderness, so you will likely see and hear construction noise related to that as well. Lakeshore Lodge is a new Disney Vacation Club Resort that is expected to open in 2027. While it is still a bit away from opening, the main structure of the hotel can easily be seen from Fort Wilderness.Â

Fort Wilderness isn’t the only hotel that will be undergoing refurbishment either. Rooms at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will be undergoing refurbishment from October 2025 until May 2026. Rooms are also being refurbished at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside.

Select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort are also undergoing refurbishment through July 2026. Rooms at Bay Lake Tower also recently got refurbished. The rooms have lots of new details including art inspired by Mary Blair and artwork done by Joey Chou.

There is also lots of construction going on in the lobby at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. A brand-new lobby bar is being built that will be the shape of a birdcage. The lobby furniture, carpeting, and check-in area will also be getting a refresh. The hotel recently unveiled a new mural on the staircase that is gorgeous!

Additionally, rooms are being refurbished at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and the lobby is currently undergoing a refresh. We spotted new murals in the lobby, although our beloved shadowboxes have been removed from the walls! Everything Pop Shopping and Dining also got a major refresh earlier this year.Â

While construction at your hotel during your Disney World trip can be a bit inconvenient, Disney does their best to make the disruptions as minimal as possible. They won’t be banging away at 2am in the morning, but you might see or hear the construction during the day.
