These Are the Most SHOCKING Disney Rules We’ve Ever Seen

If you haven’t been to an international Disney Park before, you need to add it to your bucket list. These parks take the magic of Disney to a whole new level and are a new way to experience something you’ve loved your whole life.

Hi from Hong Kong Disneyland!

We recently went to Hong Kong Disneyland and had a spectacular time filled with gorgeous entertainment, food, and characters. While the parks can often feel similar to the Disneyland and Disney World we know so well, we saw two rules that totally changed our visit.

The first one we noticed is that it’s illegal to talk to the bus driver!

Now, this is usually only when the bus is in motion, but some avoid it altogether. This rule is in place for the safety of passengers and to make sure that the bus driver is paying attention to the road.

Parade

Another rule we noticed in the parks was that you need to be sober to ride attractions. While this is a great rule in general and Cast Members can ask guests not to ride if they believe it can be a safety hazard from someone too impaired from alcohol, there aren’t generally signs listed.

When we went, we noticed the signs everywhere! We’re surprised we don’t see these in EPCOT.

Golden Crocus Inn

One neat part about going to international parks is seeing what everyone wears to them. Some people come in elaborate costumes and outfits to walk around a theme park. At Disney World, guests over the age of 14 are not allowed to wear costumes or costume masks to avoid being mistaken for Disney characters.

In Hong Kong Disneyland, the age limit for costumes is increased to 16 years or older.

Also in Disney World, guests under the age of 14 need to be accompanied by a guest who is 14 years or older. At Hong Kong Disneyland, guests need to be 16 or older.

Coronation Sundae

Hong Kong Disneyland is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, and one of our favorite parts of visiting was checking out the fun entertainment, which runs till May 2026.

Hey Duffy!

Friendtastic! is a super cool parade with over 30 Disney characters and over 100 total performers. Of course, Duffy and his friends were there, too.

Hi Donald!

The fireworkers? To die for! Momentous: Party in the Sky uses fireworks and drones and adds a special prelude to the show for the anniversary.

Make sure to check out the show!
