When it comes to planning your trip to Disney World, it can be hard to know where to start!

Before you even hit the Orlando theme parks, it’s important to know how you’re going to get there. That’s why we’re here to tell you all about Mears Connect! Trust us — this service will come in handy.
Getting to the Disney parks isn’t as easy as it used to be! There was once a time when Disney would provide free transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport and your Disney World resort. This service was called the Magical Express, and it was a huge fan favorite. It was the famous symbol of the start of a Disney vacation!

Sadly, the Magical Express service was discontinued in 2022, and we were looking to replace that bus-shaped hole in our hearts. Luckily for us, that’s when Mears Connect came into the picture!

If you didn’t know, the Magical Express was operated by Mears drivers back when it was available. Once the Magical Express was discontinued, the long-time transport company stepped up to offer an option for those trying to fill the void. Mears Connect stepped up to the plate when we needed them! It’s a service that offers some similarities to what we’ve known in the past, all at an affordable fee.

When it comes to the Standard Mears Connect, it’s a shared ride service where transportation is provided in charter-style buses or vans. Mears vehicles leave Orlando International Airport every 20-30 minutes, bound for each Disney World Resort Area — you’ll usually wait 20 minutes or less to depart. Your vehicle will likely make multiple stops at Disney World hotels. The price includes all tolls and surcharges. (Which you can’t say for every other service out there.)

Prices are based on how many people are in your party. A standard one-way fee for adults begins at $16, children are $13, and kiddos under 3 are free!

Mears Connect does make multiple stops, which might add a bit of time to your schedule. If you’re looking for a quicker route, you can guarantee you are the first stop by booking Express Mears Connect. Express Mears is still a shared ride experience with other guests, but your hotel will be the first stop after leaving the airport and the last stop before heading to the airport.

When it comes to Express connections, your vehicle may be a bus, or it could be something else, depending on how many people are in your group, and it might vary depending on when you arrive versus when you leave. If you’re interested in using the Express connection, it is a round-trip only service, so Express is not available one-way, and pricing is based on your group. For four people, it is $250, and each additional passenger will be $55 per person.

When it comes to the service provided for each type of Mears Connect experience, both include:
- Onboard entertainment
- Comfortable seating
- Clean vehicles (Mears follows federal, state, county, local, and CDC health and safety recommendations)
- Friendly drivers (Mears routinely screens and trains its drivers)
- Wheelchair accessibility
- No surge pricing
- Real-time updates using enhanced technology

Once you’ve arrived at the airport, start by grabbing your luggage. After that, just head straight to the Mears Connect reception area where you’ll be assigned to a lane based on which resort you’re going to and start getting dispatched onto a vehicle. Head to the B Side terminal, or, if your flight arrives into Terminal C, stay in Terminal C. Mears Connect is located on Level 1 (Ground Transportation) of both Terminals B and C, just follow signs for Mears Connect.

It’s an incredibly streamlined experience and beats waiting for an Uber or Lyft outside in the humidity. People also find themselves choosing Mears over other options because of its affordability. Car rentals in Orlando can range in pricing, and it isn’t always a guaranteed price, especially during the busy seasons. If driving yourself, you also have to provide gas, worry about tolls, and take on the added stress of taking care of the vehicle. Who wants all that?

Mears has been enhancing their services recently! If you have used Mears Connect before, you might be surprised by what’s new, including:
- Mears Connect now services most Disney Springs resorts and other Disney area resorts. (Full list here!)
- Mears Connect now operates a second location in terminal C.
- Delivery of confirmation and boarding pass documents by email.
- Electronic check in and communications on the day of your travel.
- Vehicle tracking on hotel departure day.
When it comes to getting to Disney World, Mears Connect is an affordable and reliable option. Be sure to keep following AllEars for more travel tips and tricks!
