Is it just us or is EVERYTHING under construction in Disney World…or about ready to be under construction? Disney is building an entire new land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom PLUS adding a new land to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Then there’s the Cars expansion in Magic Kingdom and the new Villains land we expect to see work begin on any day now.
We’ve seen big refurbishments happening at hotels, too, including Stormalong Bay, the pool at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Clubs, which JUST reopened. Well, nearby, on Disney’s BoardWalk, a hotel shop just finally reopened after a lengthy refurbishment.
The Screen Door General Store on Disney’s BoardWalk encompasses several shops, including Character Carnival and Thimbles & Threads. Disney has been refurbishing the stores. Most recently, Thimbles & Threads was closed for that refurbishment. Well, now Thimbles & Threads has reopened, marking what looks like the end of the construction at these three stores.
Inside, the store has a refreshed look. You’ll find new flooring on the floors, while the walls have been painted white. Disney also added new lighting fixtures.
The check-out counters are now smaller and take up less space. They also have a new lighter color scheme.
The shop feels more spacious, thanks to the lighter touches and smaller counters.
As always, the store features clothing, as well as accessories, plushes, and toys.
