Disney Cruise Line has multiple new ships on the way that will debut over the course of the next few years, and we just got an update on the ship that’s setting sail in December!

The Disney Adventure is gearing up to sail from Singapore later this year, and we’ve been following along with each and every update as it gets closer to sailing. It’s currently being built in Germany and will sail to Singapore when it’s ready, and construction just took another BIG step forward — we finally know who will star on the ship’s stern artwork!
The oversized Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse have just been installed on the stern (the back) of the ship! This sculpture is 18 feet tall and 12 feet wide, and this is the first Disney Cruise Line ship to feature Captains Mickey and Minnie as the stern characters.

Don’t forget to look at the details! Mickey and Minnie both have yellow paint dripping from their buckets and paintbrushes, as they’ve just gotten done painting the wording on the ship’s stern. Their outfits are also perfect replicas of the Captain’s outfits we’ve seen on them before — all the way down to the bows on Minnie’s shoes.

So, what else is coming on the Disney Adventure? Well, Disney revealed that we can expect to see Disney, Marvel, and Pixar stories aboard this new ship.

This ship is totally different from Disney’s current ships and will include seven themed areas, one of them being San Fransokyo Street! San Fransokyo Street aboard the Disney Adventure will be inspired by the animated film Big Hero 6.

Rotational dining will be available on the ship with three different experiences per sailing. We can’t WAIT to dine at the Enchanted Summer Restaurant, which will feature the worlds of Tangled and Frozen with a cozy village dining hall.
