May is shaping up to be a HUGE month on Disney+.

This month, not one but two of pop culture’s most popular — and longest running — institutions will air massive finales on the streaming service: Star Wars and Doctor Who!
First up, May 13th will see the debut of the final three episodes of Andor’s second and final season.
The Star Wars series, which serves as a prequel to both 2016’s Rogue One and 1977’s first Star Wars film, follows thief-turned-rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), exploring how he becomes radicalized against the Galactic Empire and how the wider Rebel Alliance is formed.

The first season, which aired in the fall of 2022, was a critical and audience favorite, with Rotten Tomatoes critical consensus calling the series “A gritty adventure told from the ground perspective of the Empire’s reign, Andor is an exceptionally mature and political entry into the Star Wars mythos – and one of the best yet.”
The second season premiered to similar acclaim on April 22nd, and has dropped three episode blocks each week since. The final episodes are expected to lead directly into the events of Rogue One.

Just over two weeks after Andor’s finale, Disney+ will also see the U.S. finale of legendary British sci-fi series Doctor Who’s 15th modern era (and 41st overall season).

The episode, entitled “The Reality War”, is the second installment of a two-part story which begins with “Wish World” the previous week.
The finale is the 10th and final episode of the season, which is the second full season of the series to air on Disney+ outside of the UK. The series stars Ncuti Gatwa as the fifteenth incarnation of the Doctor, along with Varada Sethu and Millie Gibson as respective companions Belinda Chandra and Ruby Sunday.

Within a few weeks in May, Disney+ will see two legendary sci-fi franchises — both Star Wars and Doctor Who — end their ongoing seasons with highly anticipated finales. Stay tuned to AllEars for more on Disney+’s upcoming schedule.
