4 Ride Changes Disney Fans DESPERATELY Want To See

When we ask what Disney can do better, our fans certainly let their voices be heard!

From explaining why someone might want to skip specific Disney Parks to suggesting fixes that would elevate Disney World to a whole new level, ya’ll have a lot to say AND WE’RE HERE FOR IT! At the end of the day, few voices matter more when it comes to the Disney theme parks than YOURS – true Disney fans. That’s why we ask you all kinds of questions, including what kind of ride changes you’d make.

Recently, we posed the question, “What ride changes do you think Disney should make in Disney World?” and the responses did not disappoint.

The most popular response had to do with the impending Cars-themed area coming to Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland.

Announced at the 2024 D23 Expo in Anaheim, our reporters overheard some…displeasure…in the audience at the time of the announcement. Sentiment around the project hasn’t greatly improved since then. The reason? The new area means the total removal of Rivers of America and all of its attractions.

Getting rid of this iconic area in Magic Kingdom hasn’t gone over very smoothly among Disney purists. Reader John wrote, “Move Cars land to Hollywood Studios and leave Rivers of America alone.”

Reader Robin echoed that sentiment while Reader Kayla added, “I have a hard time getting excited for new rides at Disney when each ride and expansion comes with closing existing attractions. Disney needs more attractions – not just new ones.”

FastPass came up ALOT, indicating frustration with Disney moving away from the old system.

Reader Audress wrote, “I miss the old FastPass…” and that kind of sentiment was brought up more than once.

The main difference between the skip-the-line system back in the day versus the Lightning Lane system used now? FastPass was free…so we get it.

One suggestion is actually happening at Disneyland! Reader Sharon suggested, “Convert the [Tomorrowland Speedway] to electric cars. Fix all the other rides so they don’t break down all the time!”

Disneyland announced that its Autopia attraction would actually switch from gas-powered to electric/hybrid vehicles by Fall 2026.

Another recurring suggestion was that Disney World incorporate more ride holiday overlays. Reader Debbie wrote, “I’d like to see The Haunted Mansion. Get themed layovers like Disneyland. Like it would be so cool to see it. All decorated at Christmas, like they do in Disneyland.”

Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland is themed after The Nightmare Before Christmas and is a massive draw each year, so it makes sense that Disney World folks may feel left out.

Disneyland’s overlays were referenced again by Reader Timothy, who wrote, “Update ‘small world’ with a Christmas theme or at least add Disney characters to it like Disneyland did”.

Disneyland’s “it’s a small world” routinely does a holiday overlay and adds characters, like the ones from Coco about to be unveiled to the public – to the ride, and doing so has seemingly been well-received by the Disneylanders out West.
