Epic Universe is almost open!

I recently got to step inside Universal’s newest theme park and I am still so surprised by everything in the park! One thing that was the biggest shock to me was the best land in the park, and I’d bet it’s not the one you’re expecting.
There are so many rides, foods, and shows to see in Epic Universe! I had high expectations for the new theme park and I can honestly say they’ve been blown out of the water. One of the most surprising things though, was what land ended up being the best of them all.

There are 5 new lands within the park; Celestial Park, Dark Universe, How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic. I came into the new park thinking that one land, Dark Universe, would aboslutley steal the show for me. I knew from personal preference that this land would easly be the frontrunner.

As far as objective bests go, I assumed the Ministry of Magic or Super Nintendo World would take the cake based on the other parks. So what was the actual winner for me? The Isle of Berk!

I’ve spoken with several peple who have also checked out the new park and they tend of agree, Isle of Berk is a standout! There are several reasons for this starting with the aesthetics. The land is so detailed and intentional.

It’s bright, lively, and seems hand-built and crafted in the best way. I truly felt like I was stepping into the movie. The characters are also a standout. They’re exactly like you hope they would be. There are several roaming characters like Astrid and Stormfly, Dart and the Nightfuries, Gobber the Belch, and Ruffnut and Tuffnut.

Not only that but there are dragons every where! It really was everything we had hopped for and more. Finally, the show is amazing. The Untrainable Dragon stage show follows Hiccup as he finds an “untrainable” dragon and works to train her once he discovers there’s something very special she’s missing.

This show blew me away. Warning! Spoiler ahead! The entire show was family friendly with tons of heart but the moment that Hiccup flew over the crowd, I was hooked. The show, the characters, and the details just have so much heart and care within the land.

This land changed the way I thought about how Universal is designing lands now. It makes me so excited to return to the land over and over again. I am still so impressed with the entire theme park and can’t wait to continue to explore when it opens on May 22nd, 2025. Keep following AllEars for more Epic Universe breakdowns and details.
