Something Is MISSING from Epic Universe

Epic Universe is almost open!

We recently got a sneak peek inside the new park, and we are still in awe! The rides have blown us away, we’ve tested out the food, and the shows are a must-see. While we are still breaking down every aspect of the park,  there is one thing we noticed that’s missing!

There are so many things to see and do inside Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s newest park that opens on May 22nd, 2025. We’ve been preparing for this new theme park for years now, so we’ve known what was supposed to be in the park.

One thing that was previously announced was roaming characters throughout the park. They specifically said there would be “plenty of exciting entertainment” to bring the park to life. One Universal executive even mentioned “celestial-type characters.” While we spotted roaming characters in most lands,  they were missing from Celestial Park.

Celestial Park is one of the 5 lands throughout the theme park, but it is the only one without any specific intellectual property. This means Universal was able to create something totally unique, including characters if they wanted to. However, during our time in the park, we noticed not one character in the area!

The park isn’t open quite yet, so there is time for this entertainment to materialize, however, we’re hearing rumors that say these live performances were removed from the land. While these characters wouldn’t have had any familiarity before the park’s opening, we were really hoping to see what they would have been like!

Here at AllEars, we’re huge fans of characters like the Citizens of Hollywood, who were previously in Hollywood Studios and brought the entrance of that theme park to life. (These characters haven’t returned since 2020, and we still miss them!) It’s not always about knowing characters before you get to the parks. Sometimes, the parks can help create love for the character!

Even Figment was created for EPCOT’s attraction Journey into Imagination, and look at the fanfare for the character now! We firmly believe Live Entertainment is very important, so we will be pretty disappointed if these characters were truly removed from the Celestial Park.

While we hope these characters one day make an appearance, we will still enjoy everything Epic Universe has to offer! There are several other characters you can find throughout the other lands, like Frankenstein and his Bride, Ygor, The Invisible Man, Hogwarts Students, Astrid and Stormfly, and more!
