4 Disney Springs Restaurants We Avoid at ALL COSTS

Disney Springs is home to over 60 different dining locations, which means you have plenty of options to choose from.

Disney Springs

Disney World’s shopping and dining district has so much to see and do that you could make a whole day out of visiting it! While you’re walking around, shopping until you drop, of course, you will need to refuel with a good meal. We are here to help you narrow down your search for the best meal at Disney Springs, as there are four restaurants that you should avoid!

Now, not all Disney World restaurants are created equally, but we will say that just because they are not our favorite restaurants right now, they could eventually redeem themselves. For now, if you want to dine in Disney Springs, we would suggest avoiding these four restaurants.

Disney Springs

Rainforest Cafe

Rainforest Cafe is an immersive restaurant where you get to dine among animatronic animals. There are a variety of Rainforest Cafes throughout the country, and because of this, we tend to skip eating here. Disney World is actually home to two Rainforest Cafes, and the other is located just outside the front entrance of Animal Kingdom. If you really want to dine at Rainforest Cafe on your trip, we suggest checking out the Animal Kingdom location, as we feel there are better restaurants to dine at during your visit to Disney Springs.

Rainforest Cafe

If you want a similar dining experience, we suggest checking out T-Rex Cafe instead, as it is more of a unique theme but still gives off the same vibes as Rainforest Cafe.

We will say that although we don’t love Rainforest Cafe, we are a fan of getting a drink and a light bite at their outdoor Lava Lounge, which overlooks the water at Disney Springs.

Terralina Crafted Italian

Now, we don’t think Terralina is a terrible spot to eat, but if you are craving Italian food, you will want to satisfy your palette at a better Italian restaurant. Disney Springs is home to Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante, Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar, and Pizza Ponte, which, in our opinion, are better Italian spots in Disney Springs.

But if you want to level up your Italian dinner event, we recommend dining in EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion at Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar, Tutto Italia Ristorante, or Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria.

If you are spending the day checking out other resorts and are in the mood for Italian, we suggest making a reservation at Trattoria al Forno on the BoardWalk or Il Mulino at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel.

Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood is a chain restaurant that is found in cities worldwide. However, its food is not the best. It has a very large menu, meaning that even picky eaters should be able to find something they want, but other than that, Planet Hollywood is a skip for us.

There are plenty of other dining options with an extensive menu at Disney Springs, like City Works or Summer House on the Lake, that can satisfy a variety of palates.

Marketplace Snacks

After a nice meal, you may want to grab a sweet treat. The good news is that Disney Springs is home to multiple ice cream shops and bakeries that are sure to help you satisfy your sweet tooth. However, out of the extensive list of sweet stops, Marketplace Snacks is a skip for us.

Marketplace Snacks

This booth is home to character bubble waffles, and although they are cute and super Instagrammable, there tends to be a long line and sometimes they can run out of bubble waffle batter on busy days, making your wait even longer.

Mickey Pumpkin Waffle Sundae during Halloween

If you want a better ice cream experience, we would head to Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop, Salt & Straw, or Vivoli il Gelato. While all three of these ice cream spots can draw a long line, trust us; they are well worth the wait when compared to the menu offerings at Marketplace Snacks.

Salt & Straw

Although we are not a fan of these four Disney Springs restaurants, there are plenty of other spectacular places to grab a bite to eat!

  1. Terralina had some of the best pizza we’ve ever had. I usually never order a steak unless I’m at a steakhouse and I ordered a ribeye there and it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The bread is some of the best bread we’ve ever had.
Rainforest is hit or miss and I would agree to skip it cause there’s better options. Although kids would love it.
    Planet Hollywood is below average.

  2. While I agree with 3 of your 4, Terralins’s served far better food than any other Italian we have eaten at Disney. Admittedly, we havent done Enzo’s.

  3. I enjoy Rainforest Cafes, and the animals are closer to life size than the T-Rex dinosaurs. Neither has food worth writing home about.
