Mufasa: The Lion King released to theaters last year, and as a result, we got a slew of new snacks in Disney World, as well as a Mufasa-inspired nighttime show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
But the question everyone has been wondering is probably regarding when Mufasa: The Lion King will be coming to Disney+. Well, now we know the answer: the film will arrive on Disney+ in late March, according to The Wrap.
Mufasa: The Lion King has already made its home video debut on video on demand and Blu-Ray, but now Disney+ subscribers will be able to watch the movie by the end of March on the streaming service. This was announced by Dana Walden at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference. The movie stars the voice acting talent of Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Tiffany Boone, Donald Glover, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Blue Ivy Carter, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and included new songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The film, which has taken in over $700 million worldwide, is a prequel to The Lion King and tells the story of Simba’s father as he made his way from orphan to becoming The Lion King. Obviously, it’s a must-see for fans of The Lion King.
March will be a big month for movies on Disney+. Moana 2 will be making its premiere on the streaming service on March 12th. We’ll be keeping an eye out for a more specific release date for Mufasa, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.
