REVIEW: These 3 NEW Brunch Items Will Make You Rethink Your Disney World Restaurant Plans

New menu changes have come to one of our go-to restaurants at Disney World!

We were stuffed!

We search high and low for the best meals around Disney World. We’ve even uncovered some of the best dishes among Disney World’s secret menu items. So when menus change and something new and exciting is announced, we’ve got to be one of the first to try it. But we have to warn you, the changes here have made this mealtime rival your favorite dishes at this popular Disney Springs restaurant.

Wine Bar George consistently seems to top our list of favorite Disney World restaurants no matter what time of the day we’re trying to eat. While they’ve certainly established themselves as a staple to visit when roaming Disney Springs, their menu has recently seen several changes to a particular dining time.

Wine Bar George

You know us by now, so after hearing that the Brunch menu had changed here, we understood the assignment! We immediately made a reservation for our next brunch spot to try out all the newest eats and options added that you can enjoy during two different dining time frames now.

Background

Master Sommelier, George Miliotes, is the genius behind Wine Bar George as its creator but you may have first learned of him during his time as part of the opening team for the renowned California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Welcome in

This restaurant is capable of seating 210 diners at a time and includes more than 100 wine selections by the bottle and glass in a range of vintages and prices. That’s not all you should expect to pick up here when you visit though! Come for the wine, but stay for the shareable plates and charcuterie boards that are crafted to compliment the extensive wine offerings typically featuring local artisans and seasonally relevant dishes.

On occasion, you can catch special offerings here like wine education events and visits from renowned winemakers.

Atmosphere

Wine Bar George is one of those restaurants where you can step inside and immediately get a sense of belonging. There’s a lively atmosphere at times or areas of the dining rooms where you can enjoy a relaxing meal by yourself or with a few of your closest friends.

Outside of the restaurant

When you arrive, you’re immediately greeted by the host stand just beyond the entrance doors which opens out to a moody atmosphere of neutral browns and bold black accents in the restaurant’s decor and table seating.

First floor seating

There’s even the first bar of the whole restaurant waiting to invite you in as you take a few more steps forward! Yes, we said first but more on that later.

If you’re looking for a little more elbow room or a scenic view with your meal, we’d suggest requesting a table in the upstairs dining rooms! This is where you’ll find the restaurant’s second bar within an open-concept dining space filled with glowing overhead lights and small table and chair sets.

Second bar

There’s another dining space set in the back where larger parties can be seated together giving you all the feels of a grand get-together (without all of the personal cleanup)!

Upstairs seating

And for you people watchers, fresh air enthusiasts, or anyone wanting to take in the nightlife and shopping hustle and bustle that makes up the crowd at Disney Springs, there’s even an outdoor patio where you can enjoy your meal or drinks and see it all.

Cozy spot for date night, no?

This is just a part of the reason we really love the vibe Wine Bar George has created. It lends a communal feel to its dining experience for multiple levels of comfort.

Food & Drinks

If you’re enjoying the view so far from your seat, there’s more to come! On this visit, we’re checking out the brunch menu which starts off with a few Wine Country brunch starter dishes…

If you find yourself stuck between a few things, talk them over with your server (that’s what we did) and they’re happy to make recommendations based on your taste preferences.

Alright — enough talk about ordering the food, let’s actually get into the heart of our visit, eating all the new things!

Our entire meal

As you can see we had our work cut out for us, so let’s get to reviewing! First up to our table from our order was the Authored In Autumn drink. This drink is made of rye, pear liqueur, honey, and lemon. We picked it up for $16.

Authored In Autumn

Overall, it was a solid choice to give us all the cool fall vibes with that warm back-of-the-throat feel. The honey and lemon worked well together to offer a soothing warmth to the rye and pear liqueur combo and we could totally see how it earned its name!

So cute!

Next to arrive was the Brunch Board and we have to admit, this one’s a beauty!

Brunch Board

It’s a little hefty on the price tag at $30, but could easily be sharable between your table and offers an array of breakfast sausage…

…and cashews.

Cashews

We’re not sure we could have asked for a better brunch board — seriously! The biggest change to this brunch offering was that the breakfast sausage is now offered as patties and not plump links as it has been in the past but that didn’t distract from the taste! Our sausage had a low-smoked taste to it without leaving your hands feeling greasy.

Sausage patties

While it might be a more subtle change, this worked wonderfully to our experience and we would have comfortably been able to share it while laughing and exchanging stories with our table.

Then even MORE food arrived at our table! We also ordered the Stuffed French Toast for $19. Honestly, after taking one look at how stuffed and large this french toast was, we couldn’t balk at the price any longer!

Stuffed French Toast

This dish is pretty simple as it’s made of French toast stuffed with coconut cream and drizzled in warm rum caramel sauce. Delicious for this one is an understatement, but you’ve really got to put your sweet tooth forward!

Inside of the french toast

We sure are glad that we cut this whole thing in half because we found that during our brunch we were only able to get half of the whole dish down before declaring ourselves too full for another bite (leftover box, please!). It was heavenly — so light and fluffy on the inside thanks to the coconut-flavored cream which was a little heavier than a standard whipped cream.

Just a bite

The run caramel sauce is what sealed our taste bud’s fate with this dish because it smothered the entire french toast beautifully and we don’t think we could have asked for a more perfect brunch dish!

However, we still had a few more dishes to try so we quickly switched gears to the Crispy Mac & Cheese Bites.

Crispy Mac & Cheese Bites

These bites are served 4 to a plate and are fairly straightforward with their name sitting in a shallow bed of tomato nage and pecorino for $16.

Bursting with creamy mac & cheese

They’re not new, but we couldn’t pass up a chance to grab them on a return visit to Wine Bar George and they made a great addition to our meal even if it was a little early in the day. The inside was filled to the brim with creamy mac and cheese sauce and they gave a great audible crunch when you bite into their crisp outsides.

Slid right off the fork

The tomato nage and pecorino were a solid addition to pair the cheese bites with and helped compliment the flavor of the mac & cheese.

Last but certainly not least for our brunch out we also picked up the Seared Porchetta Sandwich.

Roasted Porchetta Sandwich

This dish will cost you $21 and is made of seared porchetta steak, cabbage & pickled onion slaw served on a brioche bun, and hand-cut fries. I mean, just look at how beautiful and bright it is!

Just the sandwich
The porchetta was well cooked to allow the meat’s flavor to permeate through the picked onion slaw and the color of the slaw was gorgeous! It was a gigantic sandwich too, so we would recommend picking it up on an empty stomach, sharing it with a friend, or planning to take some of it home to finish later.
Inside of the sandwich
The fries were well seasoned and gave an almost roasted flavor. The seasoning lent it a little something extra against the soft give of the potato filling to the fries and made for another solid accompaniment to the dish.
Fries
All in all, we would totally buy this entire meal over again (but probably in smaller sections if we were coming alone or less hungry)!

Magic or Tragic?

If you’ve made it this far into our review you’ve probably gathered that we would rate the overall experience pure magic. This is a typical stop we’ll make for ourselves when we’re visiting Disney Springs, and we keep coming back time and time again because even when new menu items are introduced, they’re an instant hit.

Brunch board

Sure, there were a few dishes that stood out above the rest (looking at you Stuffed French Toast and Brunch Board), but if you’re really looking for a casual meal spot and being choosey with where you’re spending your vacation dollars without fail, this is a restaurant we believe very solidly in!
