  1. Hey DVC members, now you are experiencing what APholders have been experiencing for YEARS. Disney just keeps removing “benefits/perks” expecting folks to pay more & more. Disney sees their most loyal guests as nothing more than a gravy train that provides a constant revenue stream for them, with no real added value to the guest. Basically, they have developed a “subscription” model, where you want perks, you pay premium for them.

  2. I will definitely not. Almost seems like a slap in the face to DVC members. Photo pass should be provided to DVC members. Think how much each member spend when visiting the park. DVC and Disney should be looking for ways to continue to bring us to the parks. A “real” discount on annual pass would also be a start. Why should I pay to use something in the lounge? Have I not already paid?

  3. I still don’t understand why we pay full price or practically full price for our tickets. This $99 opportunity is very vague. We really feel like step children.

  4. Why won’t they just give this to DVC members in the first place? They are the most loyal customers Disney has and they want to nickel and dime them for something that could be given for free and probably increase their revenue. They just seem to be going out of their way to push their loyal fans away. I don’t get it.

  5. Doubtful we will get to use this anyway since we are resale DVC members.
But even if we were if really have to crunch the numbers to see if it’s worth it.

  6. What a waste! No, this is not even worth $.01. Try something of value for FREE. As a DVC member, we pay enough.

  7. Being a dvc member I thought part of the benefits is the perks that come with it. The saving on the park tickets will need to be worth more that the 99 paid each year. Also, most dvc members don’t have access to go often to WFW if they don’t live nearby. I think the pass should be for DL and WDW.

  8. With the thousands and thousands of dollars DVC members spend yearly, I don’t see why they wouldn’t spend another $99 for this. After today’s announcement of the Premiere Pass in the parks, this seems grossly underpriced.

    1. The membership seems overpriced? They haven’t said exactly what kind of savings we would even get on park tickets. I’m not even sure the 99 is worth it.

    2. Never say that about anything Disney – if they see it, they’ll have the price increased by tomorrow!

Actually, the value of this one is TBD. Without knowing the price/details of the highly restricted weekday tickets and the Sorcerer pass, and the details of the lounges, the known benefits included come down to the memory maker (nice for those who do it, but often discounted in other offers) and the $95 fee waive if you happen to be going out of the network (which I suspect many never do).

The troubling part is I take this to mean that the DVC lounge is going from a free benefit to one with a cost. If they are being upgraded, with more included, it could be a nice change, but otherwise it’s just paying for something currently free (with an added location).

      1. I agree. I have always felt DVC members were taken for granted. For example, they do not qualify for free dining even though we are actually paying for our stays as well. This extra would be nice if it included ride access etc.. More nothing for $$$$
