Hurricane Helene is making its way to Florida and to keep everyone safe, theme parks are forced to cancel certain experiences.
Yesterday, Disney World announced that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was canceled for the evening of September 26th with refunds issued to ticketholders. Now, Universal Orlando has made some cancellations that may affect your visit today.
Universal Orlando just issued a statement on social media alerting the public about some operational changes due to the storm. Halloween Horror Nights has officially been canceled tonight, September 26th. Additionally, CityWalk will now close early at 8PM instead of 1AM.
The two theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, will remain open as usual. The former is set to close at 5PM (which has been the case due to Halloween Horror Nights) and the latter is set to close at 8PM.
If you had a single night dated ticket for tonight’s Horror Nights event, Universal is automatically honoring the ticket for a single night use through Sunday, September 29th. That means you can attend Horror Nights any night between September 27th and 29th, 2024.
Universal also noted that all other ticket questions can be directed to the Guest Contact Center at 800-711-0080.
Universal announced yesterday that Volcano Bay, the resort’s water park, would be closed. It is expected to reopen on September 27th along with the other parks and CityWalk. Halloween Horror Nights is also set to resume on Friday night.
Orange County, where Universal Orlando is located, is currently under Tornado Watch and a Tropical Storm Warning. If you are in the theme parks today, you can expect lots of rain and high winds. Stay safe and be sure to keep your rain gear with you at all times.
