Picking an airline for your next Disney World trip can be a tricky decision.
There are many different reasons for picking specific airlines to fly with. Some offer great pricing on tickets, others offer free luggage, and some have better amenities than others. Now, one popular airline will be offering a HUGE game-changing feature on all its airplanes soon that might make you rethink your top airline choice!
United Airlines teased a big change coming to the skies with a cryptic X post on September 12th.

Then, on September 13th, we finally learned what that “something big” was. United Airlines has officially partnered with SpaceX to offer Starlink Wi-Fi on all of its flights — for FREE!
The world's most advanced high-speed Wi-Fi is coming to United with @Starlink. For free.
You’ll be able to stream, game, shop and more on seatback screens and personal devices simultaneously. Expect the same internet you get on the ground… at 35,000 feet. We expect to have… pic.twitter.com/M6ZihBBEnb

The airline has shared that testing for this new service will begin in early 2025 with the first passenger flights to offer it beginning later in the year. All United aircraft (more than 1,000 planes) are expected to have free Starlink access for passengers over the next several years.
You’ll be able to enjoy high-speed, low-latency internet in the air the same way you enjoy it on the ground. There will be access to live TV, streaming services, social media, shopping, gaming, and more, on the seat back screens and your personal devices, even allowing multiple devices under one user. This offering will be unlike any other internet offering on other major U.S. airlines, according to United.
Not only will you be able to access productivity spaces, shopping, gaming, streaming, and social media platforms, but you’ll also have access to live support with the United Airlines app. This will give passengers the ability to see real-time information about connections and access customer support mid-flight.
Currently, there are nearly 100,000 seat back screens in United’s fleet of aircraft with the plan to grow this number through new airplanes and retrofitting existing aircraft. Starlink will be available on these seat backs along with on personal devices for customer use.
Not only will this new internet offering benefit passengers but also pilots, flight attendants, technicians, and gate agents who use mobile devices to run airline operations and assist customers. Hopefully, this will continue to improve customer service and options.
This will be a huge benefit to customers and United employees when Starlink debuts on the aircraft. If you enjoy or need access to internet on flights, this will be a wonderful, free amenity coming to United flights around the U.S. Think of all the Disney World planning you could do while on the plane to Orlando!
