The World’s Most Beautiful McDonald’s Just Reopened and We’re Taking You Inside

Like Disney, McDonald’s is ICONIC. Plus we believe there’s a lot of crossover between Disney fans and McDonald’s fans.

In fact, McDonald’s has a Disney World connection: it was once the sponsor of the Dinosaur ride in Disney’s Animal Kingdom (and you can still see an Easter egg inside the ride for now — at least until it gets re-themed). You could once even get McDonald’s fries at the parks. So we love covering McDonald’s news, too. We HAD to share this one McDonald’s with you, though, because it’s absolutely stunning. Yes, we used the word “stunning” to describe a McDonald’s.

You’ll find this McDonald’s in Budapest, Hungary. According to the New York Post, this McDonald’s is inside an old train station, Nyugati Railway Station, and is considered “the world’s most beautiful McDonald’s.” This location recently underwent a months-long renovation and has reopened. So let’s go inside. As you can see, it doesn’t even look like a McDonald’s from the outside.

This McDonald’s has been open since 1990 and now sits in a building that dates back to 1877. In January 2024, it closed for renovations, and just officially reopened with its older features restored and new ones added. Just take a look at this interior.

The renovation included refreshing things like the old station’s antique lamps and ceilings. Some new modern touches were also added, though, like touchscreen kiosks plus a new outdoor terrace for the location’s McCafe.

A second level was added to the location, too, which greatly increased the seating capacity. Now, 280 people can sit and dine in this new massive McDonald’s. You’ll also find a few exclusive food options, including the Goosey Gustav burger, which…get this…has foie gras on top of it. This location also serves gluten-free buns.

This is probably the only McDonald’s that has ever been referred to as being like a 5-star hotel, but you can see why. As we said, it’s stunning. The renovators did a great job of keeping it modern while leaning into the building’s original vintage vibes.

So if you ever find yourself in Budapest, it might be worth your time to go visit this gorgeous building and grab a burger and fries while you’re there.
