With all of the exciting updates coming out of Universal lately about Epic Universe, it’s hard not to want to rush right out and get a closer look.

While we’re still waiting on an announcement for when the park will be expected to open, that doesn’t keep us from scouring the internet for any glimpse of what’s currently being worked on and tested within each of its lands and its hotels. However, there’s one land in particular we’re most curious about!

So when we’re really craving a less obstructed look at what all is goin’ on over there, we know just where to look! Recently, it seems Universal’s construction team has been hard at work building out various parts of Super Nintendo World.

Here We Go! to Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe

Universal Hollywood’s version of Super Nintendo World has been open for just over a year at this point and while some of the features in the proposed artist concepts showed a few similar buildings and offerings, we were curious as to just how much Universal would stick to these original designs (and if it would look different than the existing land on the West Coast).

The Duo!

Universal has already confirmed that Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe is expected to look different than its counterpart in Hollywood and will be larger —  offering new rides within a brand new section highlighting the Donkey Kong characters. But, what we found of its current construction seems to echo a lot of what we’ve seen in the concept art and in the other version of the land already. While searching for a bird’s eye view of the place, we ran across a few recent photos @bioreconstruct had taken of the land. Here’s an updated look at what’s expected to be the front of Princess Peach’s Castle…

…along with what appears to be the beginnings of a nearby fountain to the castle which was also part of the concept art.

Aerial photos also captured the beginning stages of more texture design added to the stairs situated near Mount Beanpole…

…and we even got a peek at the front facade that’s expected to be Toadstool Cafe (which looks strikingly similar to the already existing version).

Another aerial look shows off the front courtyard of the land and we even get a peek at what looks to be Bowser’s Fortress in the top corner!

Here’s a closer look at all of the detail going into this front entrance! You can see all of the sharp edges and stone like painting that covers the front gate and it’s giving us all of the boss vibes!

This is anticipated to be the entrance to the upcoming Mario Kart Bowser’s Challenge attraction within the land!

In this rides you’ll venture inside its immersive queue that features elements from the Mario Kart game play and their nemesis, Bowser, as you make your way into the loading area for the ride. Once you’ve boarded you’re taken on a whimsical augmented reality ride through a course just like in Mario Kart where you’ll have to dodge, swerve, and outwit your fellow opponents to get to the finish line!

Let’s-A-GO!

We mentioned Mount Beanpole briefly earlier but this is where you’ll find the Yoshi’s Adventure attraction!

This family friendly ride will give you a slow, yet bird’s eye view of the land as you ride on the backs of colorful Yoshi! You can actually already see what look like a few installed already on the track. There’s also scaffolding up now in front of where appears to be where the front entrance sign will eventually be.

It seems like Universal is really digging deep and trying to keep the pace with such ambitious construction over the entire park. Seeing more visible outside progress just makes us even more eager to see it up close when it’s finally opened.
