NEWS: ‘Inside Out 2’ Movie in Disney Springs Is Almost COMPLETELY Sold Out Right Now

It’s no secret that Disney’s most recent animated films have struggled at the box office.

Elemental got off to a slow start at the box office, but eventually, the film went on to do much better than expected and became a hit. However, Wish didn’t do quite as well and is being considered a box office bomb by experts. Now, Disney has a NEW movie, Inside Out 2, in theaters, but here’s the good news: it looks like this movie may be a huge hit.

So the first sign that we noticed that Inside Out 2 might be a huge hit is that we tried to get tickets this weekend to see the film at the AMC Theater at Disney Springs. When we checked, nearly every showing was sold out!

When we looked at seating availability, the options were extremely limited for the popular 7:30PM showtime. In fact, we couldn’t even find two seats in a row unless we wanted to sit RIGHT in front of the screen. WOW!

Even the later showings, like 10PM, only had a few seats still available.

So that’s a good sign that Inside Out 2 is going to be a huge hit. However, another sign is that people seem to love the movie. On Rotten Tomatoes, the critic score is a whopping 92 percent, while the audience score is even higher, at 96 percent!

According to Deadline, Inside Out 2 could also have the third-best animated opening of all time. As of Friday, June 15th, the box office take is $60 million, the second-best opening day for an animated movie after 2018’s The Incredibles 2, which made $71.2 million on its opening weekend. It’s also WAY above last year’s top animated hit, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, which made $51.8 million during its opening.

There have also been a lot of social media searches for Inside Out 2. People have searched for the movie MILLIONS of times across platforms like TikTok, X, Facebook, and Instagram. Searches for Inside Out 2 are also trending on Google. This movie appears to be having a VIRAL moment!

Disney CEO Bob Iger recently mentioned how the company wanted to focus more on quality than quantity moving forward with its movies, only releasing sequels if they are as good as or better than their original films. He said Disney would “only greenlight a sequel if we believe the story that the creators want to tell is worth telling.” It seems that with Inside Out 2, that strategy may be working for the company.

Jim Morris, president of Pixar Animation, recently confirmed to Bloomberg that Inside Out 2 would have a 100-day theatrical run, which means the film will be in theaters through at least mid-September. Most movies only have about a 40-day theatrical run, so this shows the kind of confidence Disney and Pixar have in the film. That also means that Inside Out 2 likely won’t make it to streaming services like Disney+ anytime soon.

Interestingly enough, Iger has previously said that streaming has caused “a severe injury” to movies. It seems that the company is trying to rectify that by keeping movies in theaters longer. Everyone will certainly be keeping an eye on how well Inside Out 2 does at the box office throughout its long run.
