CRITICAL INFO: How To Choose The Best Lounge Chair At Every Disney World Hotel Pool

Sure, Disney World parks are fun — but sometimes you just need a little rest and relaxation poolside.

Coronado Springs pool

Of course, Disney World Resort pools share several things in common, including fun theming and family-friendly activities. But if you’re looking to have some fun in the sun, how can you be sure you’re choosing the best lounge chair? Don’t worry, we’re here to help!

Disney Vacation Planner

Planning on making a splash while you’re on your upcoming Disney World vacation? We don’t blame you! But, you might be faced with a tough choice — just where should you park yourself for the day, and how do you choose the best lounge chair? Have no fear — we have some tips on what to look for when you’re ready to chill poolside!

Have It Made in the Shade

Okay, some of these might be pretty obvious. But, we like to be thorough here at AllEars which is why we’re still going to tell you to look for chairs in the shade! We know, we know — you’re looking for fun in the sun, not fun in the shade, but trust us when we say you’re going to want that break.

Doubloon Lagoon pool at Port Orleans — French Quarter

It gets extremely hot in Central Florida — where Disney World is located — during the summer months. July and August are especially brutal, and it’s not just the heat you need to be worried about. Those ultraviolet (UV) rays can give you sunburn faster than you think, so looking for shade can extend your pool time.

Keep Your Friends Close

And by “friends” in this particular scenario, we mean the bar. If you’re planning on making frequent trips to the pool bar, consider finding a chair that will save you from having to walk a long way. Of course, this might mean you have to deal with more thoroughfare, but the payoff is usually worth it.

Polynesian pool

From our experience, Disney World pool bars often have fun drinks, full bars, mocktails, and even some pretty stellar eats.

Be One with the Bathrooms

We shouldn’t have to tell you not to pee in the pool, but, here we are. If you or your kiddo require frequent trips to the bathroom, it’s probably a good call to find an area that’s somewhat close to the loo.

Big Blue Pool

Most Disney World hotel pools have at least one set of bathrooms nearby — if not multiple options. Hopefully, this will give you even more options to choose from!

Don’t Take the Scenic Route

If you’re someone who makes lots of trips back to your room during a pool day for whatever reason — like one of your kids needs a nap or something along those lines — you might want to consider posting up at a chair with the easiest route back to your room.

Fort Wilderness pool

Just keep in mind that the chair that’s technically closest to your room might not necessarily be the one that’s closest to the entrance of the pool — meaning you might end up walking farther than originally planned.

Keep One Eye Open

Disney World pool days aren’t all about rest and relaxation — they can be about having fun, too! If you’ve got kids that want to take advantage of the free recreation, find a pool chair or two that gives you a good vantage point of all the action.

Hippie Dippie Pool

Some Disney World hotel pools feature water slides, some have splash pads, and one even has a lazy river. Choosing a seat that has a good view of the activities can mean you get to relax while still doing your job as a parent or guardian!

Swim Away, Swim Away

On the other hand, though, if you’re opting for a child-free pool experience — we recommend the exact opposite. Scope out where the most families with kids are and walk far, far away to a chair with fewer gremlins running around nearby.

Fuentes del Morro Pool

Keep in mind, though, that this is Disney World — so being around kids is pretty much a given in this situation. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy a bit of peace and quiet while you’re relaxing poolside.

Don’t Turn It Up to 11

Remember those activities we mentioned? Sometimes they involve music, dance parties, and yes — loud noises. Scope out the speakers if you can find them and consider choosing a chair that’s far away if you don’t want to be blasted with sound.

Stormalong Bay

Of course, everyone is going to have different preferences and needs based on what type of Disney pool day you’re trying to have. But chances are if you follow these tips and know what to look for when it comes to choosing your lounge chair, we think you’ll end up having a pretty great time!
