Disney Fans Are RUNNING to McDonald’s for This NEW Menu Item — But There’s a Catch

Well, this may have been the very LAST thing we would have anticipated McDonald’s adding to their menu, but here we are!

We’re big fans of McDonald’s here (and their spin-off restaurant) if you didn’t know that before and we were already shocked by the announcement of a NEW McFlurry flavor! But now, we’ve discovered that McDonald’s might also be Disney World fans because their newest menu item is one we’re all too familiar with.

McDonald’s newest menu item just scored big brownie points with us just with its name alone. While we know McDonald’s is a restaurant giant with tasty treats, burgers, and our beloved Chicken McNuggets, this major food player has just announced a game-changing addition!

Before we dive into this too deeply you’ve got to understand our deep-seated love for POG at Disney World. POG, which is made of passion fruit, orange, and guava juice, can be found around several places at Disney World but we’ve not truly seen it featured at other fast food chain restaurants.

McDonald’s is set to debut its new tropical treat named the Passionfruit Orange Guava Real Fruit Smoothie. It’s said to be made out of “real guava purée, with the fresh taste of passionfruit and orange.  Blended together with yogurt and ice.” You can also opt to order this smoothie without yogurt as an ice-only version, in sizes ranging from small, medium, and large.

This new flavor is just the latest in the current McCafe lineup of fruit smoothies. According to The Street, the debut flavors Banana Strawberry and Wild Berry were meant to test the market and they grew in popularity, McDonald’s has continued over the years to roll out a few seasonal versions to join the menu constants like Blueberry Pomegranate, Mango Pineapple, and Strawberry Mango Orange.

But, if you’re already getting just as excited as we are to rush out and grab it (either at home or at the nearby McDonald’s within Disney World property), you’ll want to take a beat. This particular menu item is currently only set to debut at select locations in Canada (cue the tiniest, saddest violin playing).

This news comes as the latest in the changes to McDonald’s which recently featured a WcDonald’s anime-inspired limited-time menu offering and theme that otherwise is known for its pretty constant, classic menu. McDonald’s has also recently experimented with another spin-off restaurant featuring some weird and quirky menu items that can be found at Cos-Mc’s.

It’s an interesting concept to see the classic McDonald’s adding less familiar menu items to their lineup of eats, sips, and treats but we can’t say we won’t at least try them!
