Since Bob Iger returned and announced the restructuring of Disney’s departments, executives have come and gone for both positive and negative reasons. And now, another one has announced his departure after 15 years with the company.

Variety has reported that Sean Bailey, President of Disney’s Motion Picture Studios, will be leaving the company after a successful 15-year career. Bailey has overseen Disney’s live-action department since 2010, first joining as a producer on Tron: Legacy.

Though he is leaving Disney, Bailey will stay on to produce Tron: Ares before officially saying goodbye. While at Disney, Bailey also produced live-action Disney+ films when the platform was first rolled out — including Hocus Pocus 2, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, and more. He is leaving the company to try his hand at some entrepreneurial projects.

Alan Bergman, Disney Entertainment co-chair, spoke highly of Bailey and said, “Sean has been an incredibly important member of the Studio’s creative team for well over a decade. He and his team have brought to the screen iconic stories and moments that have delighted fans around the world and will stand the test of time. I know he’ll continue to do great things.”

David Greenbaum will be replacing Bailey and will report to Bergman. Greenbaum most recently served as president of Searchlight Pictures (owned by Disney) where he helped manage all aspects of the studio’s film and television output along with Matthew Greenfield. Greenfield will now have sole oversight over Searchlight and will still report to Bergman.

“I want to thank Bob Iger and Alan Bergman for the extraordinary opportunity to continue the legacy of fabled and groundbreaking storytelling at both Disney and 20th Century,” said Greenbaum. “It’s an honor and responsibility I don’t take lightly.”
