But, that doesn’t mean they’re planning on stopping rolling out even more ships in the future. In fact, Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Star of the Seas, is getting ready to set sail in 2025 — just not quite as soon as originally planned.

Royal Caribbean has delayed its newest ship, Star of the Seas, and canceled the inaugural sailing. Thanks to our friends at MEI/Mouse Fan Travel for giving us this information!

Originally slated to set sail on August 17th, 2025, the inaugural sailing will now depart on August 31st instead. In an email to travel agents, Royal Caribbean said:

“While we’re working hard on completing our newest Icon Class ship, Star of the Seas, and after a review of the work that remains to be done, we’re unfortunately forced to delay the ship’s delivery date. As a result, we must cancel our inaugural 7-Night Eastern Caribbean & Perfect Day August 17th, 2025 sailing.”

In Chill Island on Star of the Seas, there’s a pool for every mood and each with prime ocean views. Of the seven pools, the four in this three-deck slice of paradise include Royal Caribbean’s swim-up bar, Swim & Tonic; Royal Bay pool, the largest pool at sea; and the adults-only retreat, Cloud 17.
