Okay, Percy Jackson and the Olympians fans, we know you’re still recovering from the season finale on Disney+ and would really like to know if a second season might happen.

Well, let’s just say this. Although Disney has not yet confirmed a second season, there are a lot of indications that it’s going to happen. So, for right now, our trusty Magic 8-Ball is answering the question about season two, and it’s saying “All signs point to yes.” We’ll tell you why.
UPDATE: Disney officially confirmed a second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Read about it here!
Okay, so for starters, Variety reported that the series premiere of Percy Jackson and the Olympians was one of the TOP FIVE most-watched Season premieres for any show on Disney+ and Hulu in 2023. In just six days, 13.3 million viewers watched the series premiere episode. Variety also reported that the season finale viewership rose by 25%. Those numbers must look good to Disney CEO Bob Iger, who has made streaming his #1 priority.

In another Variety article, Percy Jackson co-showrunner hinted more about the future of the show, suggesting that a second season was likely to happen, as well as commenting that the show’s writers’ room has come together to begin outlining ideas for the second season.
“There is an awareness on everyone’s part that the demand for the show seems to suggest we should probably not stop making it,” co-showrunner Jon Steinberg said.

Percy Jackson star Walker Scobell also seems to have hope that a second season is on the way. In an interview with TV Insider, the actor said he hopes the series will be renewed, but he does anticipate having more underwater scenes to film in the second season. The underwater scenes for season one were filmed on his final day on set.
He said, “Those were really fun, but I’m a little bit nervous for next season because — since I have to keep my eyes open [while filming underwater], on the second day, my eyes really started burning — I’ll probably have to do a week of that.”

So it seems like the numbers are there to almost guarantee a second season, and the cast and crew seem hopeful that it will happen. Now, we won’t know anything for sure until Disney confirms a second season, but we’re also feeling like it’s almost a done deal.
