Ready for your next trip to Disney World?

We know you’re excited about all there is to see and do at the parks and Disney Springs, but there are a lot of things you can do right at your hotel that you might have not known about. That’s why we’re here! Let’s go over some of the things you’re not using in your Disney World hotel that you absolutely need to!
Marshmallow Roasting and S’mores
First up, I bet you didn’t know you could have s’mores at Disney World. You totally can! It’s one of the best things to grab a S’mores Kit and visit your hotel’s campfire.

You can find out when and where the campfire is lit by asking a Cast Member or checking the hotel’s activities schedule.
Utilize Hey, Disney to the Fullest
Disney World hotel rooms now come equipped with their own personal assistants in the form of an Amazon Alexa device that has the “Hey, Disney!” service on it. If you want to use this service, the best way to figure out how it works is to play with it so you understand how to use it!

You can ask it for more towels, check park hours, etc. Also, if you don’t want to use Hey, Disney! during your trip, you can also choose to disable it for the length of your stay.

Movies Under the Stars
Disney World hotels will often host “Movies Under the Stars” where a projector is set up outside, playing Disney movies for guests.

The outdoor movies are free to resort guests. Ask a Cast Member for a recreational activity calendar to see what movies are playing and when!
Extra Blankets in the Closet/Drawers
Don’t shiver through the night! If you’re finding the room too cold but don’t want to change the temperature, don’t worry!

Make sure to check the closet and the drawers. You’ll find there’s an extra pillow and blanket that has been cleaned and placed in a sealed bag. That way you can keep warm and cozy.
Free Celebration and Birthday Buttons
At Disney World, you’ve surely seen guests wearing celebration buttons for various milestones. Make sure to grab a birthday button so everyone knows you’re celebrating something special.

You can pick up a button at the concierge desk at your Disney Resort or at Guest Relations in any of the parks. You never know — you just might get some extra pixie dust from cast members when they notice that it’s your special day!
Use the Phone! Call the Front Desk
You’ll always find a phone in your room and guess what? It works!

If you encounter any issues, don’t hesitate to call the front desk. They’re there to help make your stay as magical as possible.

Retractable Clothesline in the Shower
After hitting the pool, you’ll need a place to hang up your swimsuit to dry.

Look no further than your shower. You’ll find a retractable clothesline in there that you can use as a convenient way to dry your swimwear. Also, it’s against the rules to hang your clothes (or anything) on the balcony, so stick with the clothesline in the shower.
Single Serve Coffee Cups
Start your day right with the single-serve coffee cups that brew your perfect portion.

No need to leave the room for that morning pick-me-up!
Animal Kingdom is a Starbucks park, the other’s are Joffrey’s parks — I don’t make the rules
There’s a Hidden Ottoman/Table Surface
If you find a small coffee table in a rectangular shape in your room…

it’s made that way so that the top can be lifted up for extra storage to stow away your belongings…

and double as a tabletop that could be used for a multitude of things like in-room dining or using your laptop!
Explore Resort Gift Shops
Remember that the hotel shops are not just for souvenirs!

You can find a decently stocked, albeit overpriced, liquor store if that’s something you’re looking for.
Consult the Concierge/Front Desk
Need something or trying to chase down a last-minute dining reservation?

The concierge/front desk is your go-to resource for all your needs.
Discover Resort Activities
There are so many activities and experiences that are available to you right at your resort.

From running trails to tie-dye shirts, archery, movies, dance parties, and delectable dining options, your Disney World resort has more to offer than meets the eye.

We’ll continue to share more tips and tricks for your next Disney World trip in 2024 and beyond. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
