One of the BEST parts of visiting Disney World is the food.
Yep, Disney World property is home to all sorts of iconic Disney restaurants, filled with theming from beloved Disney movies and lore. A lot of them are on the must-do list for many visitors, and that leads to a bit of a problem…
A lot of table service Disney World restaurants are HARD to score reservations for. Even with reservations, though, it still doesn’t guarantee you’re seated in a timely manner. This happened to us recently.
We were visiting the Boathouse at Disney Springs, and even with a reservation, we waited upwards of 30 minutes just because of how busy the restaurant was.
There are a set number of reservations available for each time slot, and that can lead to crowded check-in areas and a pretty hefty wait even in the reservation queue.
So… It can be a bit frustrating if you’re expecting to be seated immediately. If you’re prepared to wait a bit, even with a reservation, things can go much more smoothly.

Told 45 minutes to 1 hour upon arrival at our reservation time at Canada. It does not work when the Genie passes conflict with an unexpected delay. Why is there not an app alert so that you can keep doing other things instead of disappointment and a wait. We left last week and walked into a better high end steakhouse outside of the park.
I get it but restaurants are a respite from the madness and chaos of the parks. The downtime works for me.
We waited just under an hour past our reservation time at the Plaza Restaurant in June. It was horrible in the heat even with sitting at a table outside. Thankfully we didn’t have that issue at any other restaurants with our reservations
