We’re Petitioning for Disney World to Add Bathrooms to These 7 Spots

We spend a LOT of time in Disney World, and that means innumerable hours spent in Disney World’s restrooms.

TRON restrooms

We’re pretty much experts on Disney World bathrooms — we know which ones are the best and which ones you should skip. But there are plenty of times when we find ourselves wishing that Disney would add some facilities in particular spots around the resort. So now we’re petitioning for Disney World to add some restrooms!

Between Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard

First up, let’s head to Hollywood Studios and talk about the front of the park. As soon as you enter, you’ll come across some restrooms before you head down Hollywood Boulevard, but we’ll warn you that these are some of the busiest in the park. If you turn right to go down Sunset Boulevard after that, the next available option is halfway down the street, and those are also VERY popular.

Hollywood Studios

So we’d love it if Disney would add some bathrooms to the corner of Sunset and Hollywood, or if we could get some on the left side of Sunset Boulevard in general. It would help disperse the crowds a little bit in this area, since it’s one of the busiest sections of the park!

Japan Pavilion

Okay, yes, the Japan Pavilion already has restrooms, but if you haven’t used them before let us tell you…they are the WORST. Literally the worst. They’re very small, dark, and they’re up at the top of the pavilion near Katsura Grill, so it’s a hike to just get to them.

Japan Pavilion

If Disney could add some nicer restrooms down at the bottom of the pavilion (with more stalls and better lighting) we’d be very grateful. Then, maybe Japan wouldn’t be our personal ranking for worst bathrooms in EPCOT.

China Pavilion

Sticking with the World Showcase, we’d also love some restrooms in China! The only bathrooms in this pavilion are the ones located INSIDE Lotus Blossom and Nine Dragons (the two restaurants share bathrooms), so they’re not exactly the most convenient.

China Pavilion

If you’re tackling the World Showcase from Mexico to Canada, these are also the only restrooms before you get to the other side of Germany. So either you use the restaurant bathrooms in China or you wait until you traverse all of China, the African outpost, and Germany before you stop again. Having some bathrooms out in the open between China and the African outpost would be a big help!

Harambe Village

In the Africa section of Animal Kingdom, restrooms are scarce. There’s one set over by Festival of the Lion King and another set in the main part of Harambe Village. But there’s a problem with the village restrooms — the entrance is located directly next to the main stage where the Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe perform!

Crowds in Harambe Village

Because of this, it can often be difficult to get into and out of the restrooms when a performance is happening, and the line to go inside (especially for the women’s restroom) can get backed up. It would be great if we could get a second bathroom in another part of the village to alleviate the crowd.

Discovery Island

Also in Animal Kingdom, the front side of the park has a bit of a bathroom drought. There are some restrooms in The Oasis right as you enter the park, but after that, you won’t happen upon any more until you get all the way back to Flame Tree Barbecue. That’s a long walk!

Animal Kingdom

The good news is that typically, people don’t spend too much time in this front section of the park. However, on the rare occasions where it’s needed, it would be helpful to add a restroom near the front of Discovery Island.

Disney’s BoardWalk

If you’ve ever been to Disney’s BoardWalk, you know that it’s loaded with restaurants, shopping, and fun activities like carnival games, photo booths, and bike rides. However, it’s surprisingly lacking in the restroom department!

An evening at the Boardwalk

Typically, if we have to go to the restroom while visiting the BoardWalk and we’re not dining in a restaurant, we head inside the lobby of the BoardWalk Inn. However, those bathrooms have been in and out of refurbishment for ages, and they’re very unreliable in terms of operating hours. It would be much easier if Disney would just add a set of public bathrooms out on the BoardWalk!

In the Slinky Dog Dash Queue

You may have heard about the restrooms mid-queue for Flight of Passage and Rise of the Resistance, but there’s another ride that we’d like to nominate for this addition — Slinky Dog Dash. Sometimes Slinky gets a longer line than either of those other rides and if the urge to use the restroom suddenly hits, you have to leave the line and walk across the land to go.

Slinky Dog Dash

Ultimately, nobody wants to possibly lose their spot in line after they waited outside in the SUN for Slinky Dog Dash, so a mid-queue restroom would help out a lot!

There you have it — our list of restrooms we’d love to see added to Disney World. Stay tuned to AllEars for more details about the best restrooms in the parks, plus other tips for your vacation.

  1. When visiting Boardwalk we use the restrooms in the archway opposite the gym by the main pool. Sort of behind the art shop which is on the village green.
