For over 50 years, Walt Disney World has not only provided a massive boost with its tourism, but also with the great work it does with organizations across Florida. This week, Disney Parks continued that tradition with a hefty donation.

Recently, Walt Disney World announced a donation of $1.5 million to 19 nonprofit organizations credited with creating positive change in Florida this year.  The 2023 grant recipients have all been selected for their notable work in their communities — including combatting homelessness and hunger, supporting the arts, and establishing education and workforce development programs.

Some of these organizations are extra special among the Disney community. Many Disney Cast Members spend time volunteering with several of the grant recipients and have collectively spent 115,000 hours volunteering THIS YEAR ALONE through the Disney VoluntEARS program.

Here is the list of all 19 Disney Grant Recipients and a little info on what they’re about:

This is just the latest investment from Disney that will help Floridians. Other efforts in 2023 include World Princess Week (one of the biggest Make-A-Wish Foundation wish-granting events ever), donating $125,000 to local school districts, moving forward with affordable housing development, and providing $500,000 in environmental grants.

We love the partnership Disney has with the Florida communities and are excited to share any future grant updates as well as the latest Disney news!
