The NEW 100th Anniversary Disney Item You Won’t Be Able to Stop Staring At

We’ve seen a lot of Disney100 merch released in different collections but we’ve not seen anything quite like this ultimate Disney100th item!

Disney’s really been into remaking several of their classic films in live-action form, but this latest leap of creativity literally has translated imagination into reality.

Alright diehard Disney fans, this is the time to stare longingly at a new incredible item.

As part of the 100 Years of Wonder celebration,  Disney has been bringing together all kinds of talent from fashion, food, art, and music. These creators have also been creating a piece through their medium to contribute as a one-of-a-kind work. These creations will then be auctioned and the proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish, a non-profit foundation benefitting critically ill children. This has been collectively called Create 100.

For her contribution to Create 100, Swarovski Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert donated a replica of Cinderella’s stunning solid crystal slipper from the 2015 live-action film. Create 100 is meant to be a part of the celebration of Disney’s 100th Anniversary, where Disney has brought together different people to each contribute a one-of-a-kind piece, the proceeds of which will benefit Make-A-Wish.

When asked about the process of recreating “the most famous shoe in the world,” Engelbert explained that crafting the slipper took their team of eight specialists nearly 150 hours. The iconic shoe features 221 shimmering facets, coated in Swarovski’s light-reflecting Aurora Borealis shimmer. It’s true to form, sporting the intricate golden butterfly from the film, making this recreated slipper a fitting tribute to Disney’s unique storytelling heritage.
